From Chap. Col. T.M. Schoewe, USAF(Ret.)
The 4th of July is soon here again and what we wrote about a couple of years ago still seems to ring true today. It is evident that Americans need to heed this warning more than ever before.
Some historian has figured the average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been around 200 years. Nations have always progressed through this sequence:
From Bondage to Spiritual Faith
From Spiritual Faith to Great Courage
From Courage to Liberty
From Liberty to Abundance
From Abundance to Selfishness
From Selfishness to Complacency
From Complacency to Apathy
From Apathy to Dependency
From Dependency to Bondage
The United States will be officially 237 years old on the Fourth of July. The Psalms which you find in the middle of your Bible again and again sound the refrain that God notes the nations which will not serve Him and they shall perish. Again and again the Psalms promise “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”
This blessing of course can only come to a nation to the extent that its individual citizens possess and worship the God who is the Lord. The individuals, who fear, love and trust in the Lord God above all things, are the real American Patriots and call down His continued Blessings on their Country.
Are you helping in the rise or fall of your nation? Are you helping or hurting yourself, your family, your country, the world? ARE YOU REALLY PATRIOTIC?
P.S Voting in our elections is more than ever a patriotic duty we should never neglect; even though the party’s candidates don’t seem worth voting for and neither party seems to be committed to solving our nation’s problems, we need to wrestle through the mire of information and make a decision…and cast our vote. Our apathy has made many of us dependent. And as a result we are losing our independence because more and more our leaders in Washington are taking away our fundamental freedoms. And this is heading our nation back down the road into the slavery of bondage. We are clearly becoming the servants of our government’s economic needs to provide bread and circuses for the masses. And that makes us all dependent for one reason or another. Amen!
