On July 5, at 2:14 a.m. the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a vehicle striking a parked vehicle on South Main Street north of School Street, in the Village of Ettrick.
A vehicle driven by Cheyenne Lee Thompson, 22, was traveling southbound on South Main Street, when the driver took her eyes off the road, causing the vehicle to veer right and strike a truck which was legally parked on that side of the road. The force of the impact caused the parked truck to hit a third vehicle which was parked in front of the truck.
Thompson was transported to the Whitehall hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.
South Main Street in Ettrick was closed for about an hour while the investigation and cleanup took place.
