The visit to Winona by the American Queen has been cancelled. Hydrological predictions of the Mississippi show that the river will start rising again in a few days, not allowing the American Queen to pass under the Hannibal, Missouri, RR bridge and head north. The Captain of the American Queen determined that it is necessary that the boat diverts its schedule of July 5 and July 13 voyages.
Hopefully by August 22 2013, when the Queen is scheduled to head towards the upper part of the Mississippi, the water levels of the river will be better. At that time, the Queen is expected to visit the Winona Levee on August 29.
The visits of the Nina and Pinta caravelles are still scheduled for July 19 - 23 on the Levee, with public tours available.
