From: Wilson Fire Dept. and First Responders
We would like to extend their deepest gratitude and sincere appreciation to everyone who attended, donated to, and supported our Wilson Family Fun Day held on July 7.
It was an opportunity to provide a fun and safe environment for community members to gather and enjoy time with their families. Hundreds of volunteer hours were put into the event by our firefighters, friends and families, and members of the community. We certainly didnít find ourselves short of attendees.
Thank you to the local businesses that donated items, services, products, and gift certificates to the silent auction.
Thank you to the Rollingstone Fire Department for the equipment for childrenís water fights. It was the highlight of the day for the children.
Thank you to neighboring fire departments for bringing firetrucks to display and participating in the water fights. Thank you to the Pickwick Fire Department for making your members available to assist us if needed.
Thank you to the Wilson Activity Group for assisting in planning and setting up the event, a huge undertaking for a group still in its infancy.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended, provided monetary donations, bid on the silent auction items, and bought meal tickets. Your support is crucial to our ability to better serve the community.
The Wilson Fire Department and First Responders are always actively recruiting additional volunteers, especially (but not limited to) those available during the weekday hours when the need is greatest. We provide initial and ongoing training, and all necessary firefighting gear and equipment at no cost to you.
Members receive a generous pension and the satisfaction of protecting your community by providing a life and property saving service. Call Josh at 507-313-1790.
