Stabbing reported in Altura (07/14/2013)
By Chris Rogers

A 24-year-old Altura man was stabbed, cut, punched, and kicked by two unknown male suspects while walking home from a bar on Main Street in Altura at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, according to a report by the Winona County Sheriff’s Department. The man told deputies that two Hispanic males he did not know approached him at the bar and told him, in Spanish, not to talk to a girl in the bar. As the man headed home, the two men jumped on him and cut and stabbed him with either a knife or a bottle before kicking and punching him, according to the man and another witness’s account. Deputies said the man received cuts on his arms and a one-and-a-half-inch-long puncture wound on his chest, of unknown depth. His condition is stable, according to the report. An investigation of the reported assault is ongoing.
