Wednesday, July 10

• At 4 p.m. deputies arrested Gregory King, 69, of Hidden Valley, for possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving after cancellation inimical to public safety after deputies recognized King and stopped his vehicle north of Winona on Highway 61.

Tuesday, July 9

• At 8:34 p.m. officers received a report of a vehicle that had been apparently shot many times with a BB gun sometime overnight, while parked on the 1400 block of West Fourth Street.

Wednesday, July 10

• At 1:23 a.m. a woman reported the theft of her purse from an unlocked vehicle parked in a carport on the 600 block of East Eighth Street. The purse contained cash, a checkbook, credit cards, and her driver’s license, she told police.

• At 8:31 a.m. a man reported the theft of a laptop from an unlocked vehicle near Eighth and High Forest streets. The laptop was a Dell Inspiron valued at $300, the man reported.

• At 9:03 a.m. a man reported the theft of two push lawn mowers and components of vehicles from Doug Ferguson Motors. Two Honda push mowers valued at $100 total and the radio, dashboard, steering wheel and airbag from a vehicle were reported stolen. The man estimated the value of the parts at $1,000.

• At 10:54 a.m. a Kmart clerk was apparently the victim of a shortchange artist, police officials said. According to the report, a heavyset African-American man between the ages of 30 and 45 purchased one item, paid the clerk with a large bill, then pulled out a smaller bill to give the clerk, and another. The man exchanged bills with the clerk several times; later the clerk noticed the cash register was $150 short.

• At 1:01 p.m. a woman reported the theft of a BMX full-face helmet from a vehicle on the 600 block of West Wabasha Street.

Thursday, July 11

• At 4:39 p.m. officers ticketed Andrew Donald Swadner, 24, of Farmington, for inattentive driving after he allegedly caused an accident that sent a 45-year-old Wabasha man to the hospital with neck pain. According to the report, Swadner rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 22-year-old Winona man, forcing that vehicle into the Wabasha man’s car.

• At 6:19 p.m. officers ticketed Marcus Aaron Shines, 31, of Winona, for violating a domestic abuse no contact order after he was found in the company of a woman with the order against him, according to the report.

Friday, July 12

• Officers referred Robert Paul Stockhausen, 47, of Winona, for third-degree driving while intoxicated and driving after revocation after he was involved in an accident on May 29 at 12:12 p.m. According to the report, Stockhausen rear-ended a car that was stopped for a pedestrian on Sarnia Street near Mankato Avenue. Police just received results from a urine test indicating that Stockhausen’s blood alcohol content after the accident was .34 percent.
