Construction site scene of three-car crash (07/17/2013)
On Friday, July 12, at 1 p.m., the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a three- vehicle crash with injuries on STH 54 near Depot Road in the Town of Buffalo, Wis. Investigation revealed that vehicles operated by Gil Adams, 45, and Amanda Manning, 24, of Fountain City, Wis., were stopped in a lane of traffic among other vehicles waiting for construction crews to open up the lane of traffic. A vehicle driven by Abagail Kopp, 16, of Galesville, Wis., was traveling northbound on STH 54. Kopp failed to notice the stopped traffic, resulting in her locking her brakes just prior to hitting Manning’s vehicle, which then hit Adam’s vehicle. Traffic was restricted to one lane of operation for about an hour. Four people were transported to Winona Health with injuries thought to be non-life threatening. Assisting the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Fountain City Fire Department, the Fountain City First Responders and Winona Area Ambulance.
