Casey Ray Kanz, age 28, of Winona, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his home.
He was born on April 5, 1985, in Winona, to Lonnie Dean Kanz and Michelle (DuBois) Kanz.
Casey graduated from Winona Senior High School in 2003. He enjoyed playing hockey his entire life, and loved the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings.
Casey had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. He found hope and support through the love of Jesus – he always said he loved Jesus.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle; sister, Christina; grandmother, Pat DuBois; great-grandmothers, Helen Moga and Delores DuBois; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Casey was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie, and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.
Casey will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at St. Martin’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be: Patrick Ebert, Brian Ebert, Brad Kanz, Erik Kanz, Dustin Schultz, and Shawn Wilbright.
Casey’s family would like to extend a big thank-you to Uncle Lee, Bob Cloeter, and Tom Thompson for everything, and for all the help they gave Casey over the years.
