Make stir fry at home (07/21/2013)
Do you want to learn how to make mouth-watering stir fry in the comfort of your own kitchen? Now, you can and you can learn from Mr. Chong Sher Vang, a former owner of Chong’s Noodle House and a staff member at Project FINE. Join Chong as he shares his expertise from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 at Winona Volunteer Services, 402 E. 2nd Street, in Winona.

You’ll learn about:

• How to use locally grown vegetables

• How to make spicy dishes and how to turn down the heat

• Ways to prepare simple and healthy meals

Recipes and samples will be provided, and attendees will have a chance to win some stir fry essentials. The event is open to the public. Register by Friday, August 2, by calling 452-5591. Seating is limited.

The class is part of Moving Ahead to Financial Freedom (a Winona community initiative) and is comprised of these representatives: Habitat for Humanity, Merchants Bank, United Way, Winona National Bank, Winona State University, Winona Volunteer Services, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union and the Winona Workforce Center.
