Do you want to learn how to make mouth-watering stir fry in the comfort of your own kitchen? Now, you can and you can learn from Mr. Chong Sher Vang, a former owner of Chongs Noodle House and a staff member at Project FINE. Join Chong as he shares his expertise from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6 at Winona Volunteer Services, 402 E. 2nd Street, in Winona.

Youll learn about:

How to use locally grown vegetables

How to make spicy dishes and how to turn down the heat

Ways to prepare simple and healthy meals

Recipes and samples will be provided, and attendees will have a chance to win some stir fry essentials. The event is open to the public. Register by Friday, August 2, by calling 452-5591. Seating is limited.

The class is part of Moving Ahead to Financial Freedom (a Winona community initiative) and is comprised of these representatives: Habitat for Humanity, Merchants Bank, United Way, Winona National Bank, Winona State University, Winona Volunteer Services, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union and the Winona Workforce Center.
