Scott Allen Ciszak, 47, of Winona, was arrested on six assault charges and two other charges after he allegedly forced his way into a family’s home, attacked multiple people, cursed at the family, and called them “illegal immigrants” at a residence on West Sarnia Street on Sunday, July 21, at 2:31 a.m. Later, after Ciszak was taken to the hospital for facial lacerations, he allegedly fought with a police officer. Ciszak was referred for gross misdemeanor domestic assault, misdemeanor domestic assault causing fear, misdemeanor domestic assault causing harm, fifth-degree domestic assault causing fear, fifth-degree domestic assault causing harm, first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault motivated by bias, and obstructing the legal process.
The family reported that Ciszak was pounding on the door to their residence for about five minutes before the father opened the door to try to talk to him outside the residence. Ciszak forced the door open, pushing the father back against a wall, according to the family. He allegedly shoved a woman, punched a man, and tried to punch the woman, and yelled, “Get the hell out of America, you illegal immigrants.” One family member reportedly punched Ciszak in the face and stomach, causing cuts to Ciszak’s face.
