Opening reception of the Watershed Gallery at National Eagle Center (07/24/2013)
On July 31st, 5 p.m.-7 p.m, the National Eagle Center will host the opening reception for the Watershed Gallery at the National Eagle Center. This event is free and open to the public.

The Watershed Gallery at the National Eagle Center showcases the beauty and diversity of life in the Upper Mississippi River watershed through the work of regional artists. A watershed is an area from which all water drains into a particular stream, lake or river. The water connects all life in the watershed, from the majestic eagle to the plants and animals that may go unnoticed. Each one has an important place in the web of life. Through the artistís unique perspective on the natural world, visitors can appreciate the many species that share the watershed with eagles and humans. The inaugural exhibition in the Watershed Gallery at the National Eagle Center is photography by Jerry and Carol Knabe (By Golly Creek Photography). This exhibit includes images of a diversity of local plants and animals, including an amazing image of an eagle soaring over the Mississippi River captured this winter from the observation deck at the National Eagle Center. A short description includes information on the location and species depicted in each photograph.

Future shows in the Watershed Gallery will include exhibits in partnership with River Junctions Arts Council (RJAC) and the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. For more information about upcoming events at the National Eagle Center, visit www.nationaleaglecenter.org.

The National Eagle Center is a landmark interpretive center on the banks of the Mississippi River in Wabasha, MN. Offering wild eagle viewing and live eagle programs daily, the National Eagle Center fosters environmental stewardship through education about eagles and the Mississippi River watershed.
