Join Ranger Ed Lagace of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge-Winona District for a fun-filled and informative day catching, identifying and releasing dragonflies and damselflies, collectively known as Odonata. This free, hands-on program will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 9:00 a.m.- 12:00 (noon) at the Wabasha Prairie near Kellogg, Minn.
Participants should bring drinking water, insect repellent and items needed to spend time in the field, including boots or shoes that can get wet. Nets and other equipment will be available. The Wabasha Prairie is located at GPS coordinates 44°18`45.93”N 91°56`54.13”W. Participants will need to access the site by following the detour through Wabasha, MN to North County Road 24 to 143rd Avenue, the parking lot for Wabasha Prairie is located east (left) at the “T” on the end of 143rd Avenue.
