  (ARCHIVES)Back to Current
Land Use Ordinance (08/11/2013)
From: Tessa Schweitzer

I would like to express my skepticism regarding any changes that allow wholesale expansion of feedlots within 300 feet of neighboring property or development of blufftops or slopes. I appreciate the challenge of the Planning Commissionís need to balance personal property rights with potential environmental damage or the rights of neighbors; but the changes are sweeping, and the elephant in the living room is the obvious benefit of the proposed changes to Commissioner Jacob. I would think it would be a conflict of interest for him to even vote on it. Why not give it a few years and see how the conditional use process works for nonconforming properties? Incremental changes can be made at the time if the feedback warrants. Why the rush?
