Pot-luck picnic, root beer floats, music, bean bag tournament, vintage photographs, jail lockup.
Homecoming has become an annual tradition at the Wabasha County Historical Society. The event stems from that time in the early 20th Century, after Reads Landing dwindled in importance and size, when former residents of the town returned to reunite with friends and family.
Homecoming for 2013 will be an Open House; a celebration of the museum and the history and people who first settled this area of Minnesota.
We are starting off with an old fashioned potluck picnic at 12:30. Bring your favorite casserole, salad, vegetable, and a lawn chair. Lemonade, paper plates, napkins, and plasticware will be provided. The picnic will be followed by dessert; root beer floats donated by the owners of Ruby Beets Antiques in Reads Landing. At 1:30 there will be music by Two of a Kind, the Tim Kriese Duo. They play a wide variety of familiar musical styles.
