August 22 open hours at MCHA archives (08/18/2013)
The MCHA Archives at 140 Mill Street, housed in the historic First Baptist Church, will be open to visitors on Thursday, August 22, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.. Contributions related to Minnesota City and area will be received at this time. Because of space limits, collections include small item memorabilia, and paper work, especially photographs. Originals can be returned to owners. Visitors will be able to review tapes, changing exhibits and photo panels which have been assembled on presentation topics of MCHA in the past years. Also available for visitor viewing are research materials on civil, political, military, transportation, religious and general history of the area and contributed file materials on area families. Archival DVDs on previous presentations will be available for loan to individuals. Archive open hours are opportune times to appreciate the significant history of Minnesota City and to visit with friends about historical interests.
