At 11:34 a.m. deputies arrested Stormy Barbara Merchlewitz, 20, of Stockton for domestic abuse after she allegedly bit and slapped a man at a residence in Stockton.
Sunday, August 11
At 7:49 p.m. officers ticketed a 17-year-old Wabasha girl for shoplifting after she allegedly stole $52 worth of merchandise from Walmart.
Monday, August 12
At 11:48 p.m. officers referred Daniel James Glubka, 43, of Winona, for gross misdemeanor theft after he allegedly stole a cellphone valued at $549 from inside a vehicle parked at the Kwik Trip on Broadway and South Baker streets. Video footage and cell phone tracking linked Glubka to the theft, police officials said.
Tuesday, August 13
At 5:12 p.m. officers recovered a purse that was stolen during a burglary on July 29. A caller reported finding the purse in a recycling bin on the block where the burglary occurred, 600 East Broadway. The purse had been rummaged through, but it was unclear whether anything had been taken.
Thursday, August 15
At 2:43 a.m. officers received a report of a burglary on the 900 block of East Wabasha Street. A man stated that sometime between midnight and 6:15 p.m. the previous day someone had entered his residence and stolen a 46-inch plasma television. The man said that all the doors were locked; however, investigators did not find signs of forced entry.
At 2:58 a.m. a man told officers he was threatened by another man with a knife while walking on the 500 block of West Fourth Street. According to the report, a white male in his early 20s with dark hair, a goatee, and a T-shirt pulled out a knife and threatened the complainant saying something to the effect of: Are you the one messing with my girlfriend? I am going to kill you.
At 7 p.m. officers received a report of damage to property from Mezzanine Floor Coverings on the 300 block of Mankato Avenue. The report indicated that a glass window in one of the shop doors was broken.
At 11:56 p.m. officers arrested Loren Curtis Topness, 53, of Winona, for gross misdemeanor domestic assault causing harm after he allegedly slapped and punched a 30-year-old man at a residence in Winona.
Friday, August 16
At 2:09 a.m. officers received a report of a theft at Gabbys Bar on Third and Market streets. A woman said that she left her cellphone, valued at $400 to $500, which was subsequently stolen from the bar.
