Man flees with gun, kids (08/18/2013)

A Nodine man allegedly fled in a pickup truck with a shotgun and his two young children after pressing the barrel of the loaded gun against his chin and threatening to kill himself. On Thursday, August 15, at 5:58 p.m., after arguing with the mother of the children, Alan John Nagle, 47, of Nodine, reportedly loaded a shotgun, pointed it under his chin, and asked if he “should just end it now.” The woman told deputies she was afraid for her life when he got the gun out. However, the dramatic disturbance ended peacefully when deputies were able to talk with Nagle at a relative’s house outside of Nodine. Deputies assured the safety of the two children before arresting Nagle for domestic assault causing fear and disorderly conduct. Sheriff’s department officials said that the shotgun was not located.
