River cleanup September 7 (08/18/2013)
From: Richie Swanson

The 33rd annual river cleanup is only three weeks away. This year Mississippi River Revival is partnering with Living Lands and Waters and Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge in The Great Mississippi River Cleanup. The River Revival hosts the Pool 6 cleanup, starting an hour early this year, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday September 7, Latsch Island Beach.

Please, bring a boat if you can to haul trash, or suggest a location we might clean at www.facebook.com/mrr1980. Wear gloves, boots and old clothes and bring a good appetite and royal sense of humor. We’ll serve free lunch and crown our second annual queen and king of river trash.

You’ll get a free Living Lands tee shirt and water jug if you pre-register at www.livinglandsandwaters.org. The 33rd annual River Revival tee shirt, designed by Julia Crozier, will also be on sale at Latsch Beach. Sales of Julia’s shirts have helped to keep the cleanup and revival alive for years. Buy one, you help to pay for trash removal. Buy two, we give you a discount.

You may sign up to clean the river from the Alma Landing and Lower Spring Lake Landing in Pool 5 and McNally Landing in Pool 5A at the Living Lands website.
