Are you caring for an ill spouse or older family member? Do you sometimes find yourself overwhelmed by responsibility? Are you unsure how to manage caregiving responsibilities and still tend to your own needs? If the answer is yes, there is help available.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers, sponsored by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Buffalo, Clark and Pepin Counties, will help you learn skills to cope with the demands of caring for someone including; assertive communication, how to handle challenging situations, effective methods of stress management and much more. You will meet other caregivers, be able to share concerns, ask questions, and find solutions in a confidential, comfortable atmosphere under the guidance of trained workshop leaders.
Classes are 1 ½ hours long and meet weekly for six weeks. This workshop is designed specifically for the caregiver. Respite care funding is available. The cost is $10 for all six sessions, “The Caregiver’s Helpbook”, a well-written guide to help you on your caregiving journey, refreshments and more! Scholarships are available.
Workshop sessions will be held Tuesdays, September 10 to October 15 from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Fountain City. Space is limited, so don’t wait.
