Catherine A. (Wamhoff) Boehmke, 83, of Rushford, died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Winona Health surrounded by her loving family.
Catherine was born March 14, 1930, in Winona, to Edward and Jennie Wamhoff. On June 28, 1947, she married Delmar “Sam” Boehmke in Hart. In 1952, they moved to California, where Sam worked in construction. They returned to Rushford in 1986. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening. She especially loved making crafts, particularly sewing, reupholstering furniture, and flower arranging.
Catherine is survived by her children, Michael Boehmke, Jennie Boehmke and Billie Jo Boehmke, all of Rushford; grandchildren, Edward Boehmke, Laurie Boehmke and Brandi Schultz; great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Dylan and Wyatt Schultz, and Justus Boehmke; brother, Karl Wamhoff; sister-in-law, Elfreida Greethurst; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; son, Bruce; brothers, Raymond and Butch Wamhoff; sisters, Ruthann Michaels and Maryjane Heller.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rushford with the Reverend Merlin Stephan officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
