Fresh offerings at Victory Garden (08/25/2013)

Tomatoes ripen outside of Cornerstone Church. Church volunteers offer homegrown fruits and vegetables to those unable to raise their own garden-fresh produce at their Helping Harvest Victory Garden Stand every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 5 p.m. "Everybody loves fresh," but not everyone can afford it or grow it, said garden organizer Patricia Karnick. Everyone is welcome. Optional donations benefit the garden program. From single moms to well-wishers picking up produce for sick neighbors, the stand has a strong following, so come early, Karnick advised.
