Hubert L. Rossin, age 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 8, 1929, in Mazeppa, Minnesota, the son of Frank and Nina Books Rossin. He married Georgia J. Todd on June 18, 1950, in Minnesota City, Minn.

Hubert was employed at Viking Pump in Cedar Falls for 34 years, retiring in 1993, in addition to working at Rock Island Millwork for 25 years. Following retirement, Hubert enjoyed helping Georgia with daycare for children in their home. He was an active member of the Molders and Allied Workers Union. Hubert was a 51-year member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served as Sunday school superintendent and also taught Sunday school and confirmation classes.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia, of Waterloo; seven children, Susan (Tom) Kane of Byron, Minn., Sherry (Jim) Rodemeyer of Waterloo, Michael (Jenny) Rossin of Waterloo, Sandra (Brad) McMahon of Jefferson City, Mo., Todd Rossin of Waterloo, Mark (Melissa) Rossin of Stafford, Va., and Shelly Strickler of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren, Summer, Chantel, Abe, Ben, Sarah, Amber, Adam, Noah, Tessa, Samuel, Leslie, Paul, Nick, Ashley, Hannah, Jade, and Livie; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Betty) Rossin, of Winona, Minn., and a sister, Mabel Albrecht of Dakota, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hugh and Harold Rossin.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, 1024 W. 8th Street, Waterloo, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
