No to military action in Syria (09/08/2013)
From: Jim Lenarz

O.K., We’ve seen this before. An American president is telling us about the war crimes of another heinous criminal who, now, happens to be the president of Syria.

Obama makes a point: Syria is using chemical weapons banned by self-respecting humans. He forgot to tell you the United States still has chemical weapons and has in the recent past supported nations that used them..hmmm. Looking under the rocks, you’ll find we also have a former U.S. president who is accused under U.S. and international law of being criminally responsible for adopting torture as an interrogation tool, so why are we running around the world looking for bad guys??

While yet another U.S. president tries to scare you into conceding the use of warfare against other humans, the true motives are hidden.

What will the result of striking Syria be? We can’t even get our strongest ally, England, to support us. China and Russia, the other big guys in the picture, have taken a strong posture of not intervening through warfare in other sovereign nations. Many in the world would suggest we have become morally corrupt, trying to protect only our interest.

You may have discovered in your own life that using force has little effect on changing the minds and hearts of other humans.

To see how mistaken our international policy is, just imagine how you would feel if another nation was sending drone planes over the U.S. to hunt down what they had identified as the criminals that live here!

Acting against Syria, we will be seen as the “heinous” aggressor, not the other way around. We will, again, be watering the seeds of hatred, on our precious earth.

So will you, the 80 percent of Americans who object to another intervention in a foreign country, please stand up!!!
