Young, Marjorie R. (09/15/2013)

Marjorie R. Young, age 87, of Winona, Minn., returned to the loving hands of God on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Sugar Loaf Senior Living in Winona.

Marge was born in Wilson Township, on September 1, 1926, to Henry and Emma (Bunke) Fabian. On May 17, 1950, she was united in marriage with Robert E. Young, at St. Martinís Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winona; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2008.

For over 30 years she worked as a bookkeeper for Polachek Electric, and in her retirement, she worked as a greeter at Hy-Vee. She was a member of St. Martinís Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Her greatest love was her family. Marge also enjoyed gardening and giving to others.

Marge is survived by her children, Joan (Mike) Asmus, Burleson, Texas, Scott (Linda) Young, Menomonie, Wis., Jim (Katrina) Young, Winona, Minn., and Sandra Young-Porter, Eden Prairie, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Young; brothers, Elmer Fabian and Norman Fabian; and sister, Florence Mayer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at St. Martinís Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Reverend Richard A. Moore will officiate.

Marge will be laid to rest in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Wilson, Minn.

A Celebration of Margeís Life will be held from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home. There will not be any visitation held on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be considered.
