Candidates for Miss Winona 2013 announced (09/15/2013)
The Miss Winona Scholarship Program has announced the following young ladies vying for the title of Miss Winona 2013: The pageant will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Winona Middle School and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Advanced tickets are $10.00 and may be purchased at Winona National Bank, downtown and from the contestants and Pageant Board. The cost of the tickets the night of the pageant will be $12.00.

This year’s MC is Tyler Larkin from Winona Radio. Entertainment will be provided by Rebecca Yeh, Miss Minnesota 2013, Serica Rowley, Miss Winona 2012 and students from “Gotta Dance”. 9 year old Gunner Tollefson, son of Jay & Allison Tollefson will open the pageant by singing the National Anthem

April Glasspoole – April is a senior at Winona State University. Her major is Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She will be singing “Never Alone” Her platform is “Girl Scouts: Serving Others”.

Maija Rannikko – attends St, Mary’s University where she is majoring in Biology. She will be playing a trombone Solo “Moon River” for the talent portion of the pageant. Her platform is Conquer Chiari: Raising Awareness, Creating Hope.

Jenna Magadanz - Jenna is a junior at Winona State University where her major is Athletic Training. She will be doing a lyrical dance. Her platform is “Donate Life: Organ Donation Awareness”

Alyson Kriz – is a student at St. Mary’s University where she is pursuing a degree in Theatre and Dance. She will be singing “Taylor the Latte Boy” in the talent portion of the competition. Her platform is Freedom from Fear: Raising Awareness for Anxiety and Depressive Disorders.

Meghan Meyers – attends St. Mary’s University where she is majoring in Elementary Education. She will be doing a monologue for her talent entitled “This Will Not Look Good on My Resume”. Her platform is Habitat for Humanity: Help me build the community one Home at a time.”
