“The Big Fall Ball” just got a lot bigger, thanks to a $5,000 contribution from Watlow. The Winona electrical control company’s contribution review board decided to donate the funds to the 2013 Winona Health Auxiliary Birthday Ball because they wanted recognize the positive impact Winona Health has on the community.
“We have very close ties to Winona Health, and this donation is meant to recognize them for their support of our company, and the community at large,” said Watlow Operations Director Joe Millanes. “Even though we are in different industries, we have common strategies and both employ processes to make us more lean and effective. We look at things in what we call ‘The Watlow Way.’ We strive to have a positive impact on the community, and when we looked at our donation dollars we thought that a gift to Winona Health would be the best way to accomplish that goal.”
The 51st annual Winona Health Auxiliary Birthday Ball, this year called “The Big Fall Ball,” will be held Saturday, October 12, at Visions Event Center. Proceeds will fund comfortable recliners for inpatient rooms as well as other furniture for the family lounges. The event will feature a pre-ball cocktail hour in Signatures’ “Summer House,” a delicious gourmet dinner in Visions Event Center, and dancing to “Incognito.” The ticket price this year has been reduced from $125 to $100 and attendees may dress in ‘after five’ (semi-formal) wear rather than black tie. These changes were designed to make the Birthday Ball more inclusive for the entire community.
