The 2013 free Winona Area Diabetes Expo will be Saturday, October 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Winona Health, 859 Mankato Avenue, clinic entrance.
Hosted by Winona Health diabetes and nutrition education staff and area Lions Clubs, the Diabetes Expo will provide information to help individuals living with diabetes, or at risk for developing diabetes, to live healthier lives.
Presentations (each approximately 30 minutes) include:
∑ I Canít Afford My Diabetes Treatment: Good Physiology vs. Economic Necessity Presenter: Gregory Pehling, MD, Gundersen Health System
∑ Tending to Your Health: Approaches to Manage Prediabetes. Presenter: Sue Haug, RD, LD, CDE, Winona Health
∑ Exercise at Home. Presenter: Lisa Rudrud, exercise physiologist
In addition to the 30-minute presentations, attendees can visit exhibits, get lifestyle tips and ask experts questions about diabetes-related products and services. There also will be a healthy cooking demonstration and samples.
Free blood sugar and blood pressure screenings also will be available at the Expo.
