Boller, Jeanne E. (10/02/2013)
By
Jeanne E. Boller, age 95, of Winona, died Monday, September 23, 2013, at Saint Anne Extended Healthcare, Winona.

Jeanne was born October 26, 1917, in Winona, Minn., to Glenn and Helma (Swanson) LaBarre. She graduated from Winona Senior High and Winona Normal Teaching School. She taught for one year and on June 10, 1939, she married George Boller. After moving around for a decade, she was overjoyed to return permanently to Winona. She was a longtime member of St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, Winona, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years.

She is survived by a son, Stephen (Diane) Boller, Excelsior, Minn., a daughter, Jennifer Feigal, St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren: Matthew (Sharon) Feigal, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Molly (Kenny) Feigal-Barko, Minneapolis, Minn., Lorelei (Young) Boller-Tian, West Haven, Conn., and Geoff Boller, Port Townsend, Wash.; two great- grandchildren: Calvin and Samantha Jeanne; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; a brother, John LaBarre; and a sister, Beth Anderson.

Jeanne loved her handsome and smart George, talking about the accomplishments and travels of her beloved family, and she loved the Lord. Generous with compliments and raspberry pie, she was always up for a visit.

She loved Winona, and partook of the many social and cultural activities Winona had to offer, hiking and picnicking, dancing, golf, the ”sandbar gang”, ham radio club activities with George, and volunteering at church and the Red Cross. She was known as a classy lady, an interesting conversationalist, and also as a heck of a lot of fun.

Her family especially wants to thank Winona Home Health, the loving staff at Callista Court, and the amazing people at St. Anne Hospice. Their thoughtfulness, skill and warmth, made her last several years rich. She always felt safe and loved in these settings, a blessing for a person in her nineties.

Jeanne was known as a friend to all, and we felt blessed to have her.

Services to remember Jeanne will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona, with Rev. Dr. Vernon Kettner officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona, Minn.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Saint Anne Foundation or to the American Red Cross.

Words of sympathy or remembrance may be left at www.fawcett-junkerfuneralhome.com. Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Winona.
