In my professional career, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to a number of communities in different states and observe the culture of that region. Occasionally, there would be a “hidden gem” in the community that had more notoriety in the outlying regions than within their current zip code.
Winona has one of those “hidden gems” in the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. During my initial visit there in August, I was astounded with their traveling exhibits and the permanent art collection on display.
That is one of the reasons why this Sunday, October 6, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Wesley United Methodist Church is sponsoring free admission for all visitors to the Minnesota Marine Art Museum. It is an opportunity for residents in the region to visit the Museum for free and experience this “hidden gem” on a personal basis. Current traveling exhibits include the St. John’s Bible and the Water and Spirituality photo exhibit from National Geographic.
Wesley United Methodist Church is happy to collaborate with the Minnesota Marine Art Museum this Sunday in creating an opportunity for members of this wonderful community to experience this “hidden gem”.
