NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO CONSIDER THE DESIGNATION OF
227 WILSON STREET AS A
WINONA HERITAGE PRESERVATION SITE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Winona, Minnesota, will meet in the Council Chambers on the Third Floor of City Hall, 207 Lafayette Street, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2004, to consider the designation of property located at 227 Wilson Street as a Local Winona Heritage Preservation Site.
Historically referenced as the Youmans House, this property (ca. 1912) is historically significant at the local level for its association with Charles M. Youmans, a prominent lumber industry executive. Additionally, the house gains architectural significance at the local level as an excellent example of the Colonial Revival style as designed by Minneapolis architect William Channing Whitney.
