Barbara M. Theis, age 59, of Winona, died Monday, October 14, 2013, at her home.
Barbara May was born June 21, 1954, in Madelia, Minn., to Clarence and Shirley (Lundholm) Schwanke and at the age of four, her family moved to the Winona area. She graduated from Winona High School in 1972 and attended Winona Vo-Tech. On May 29, 1976, she married Gregory Theis at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Winona, Minn.
From 1980 to 2000, Barb and Greg owned and operated Kolter Bike Shop, Winona. Barb was also employed at various businesses, including Vardon Golf and Watkins.
Barb was a member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Winona. She was a former member of Dog Pound Hot Rods and Winona 4-Wheelers. She enjoyed collecting Garfield the Cat items and porcelain dolls. She also kept busy sewing, jewelry making, crocheting, and making many different craft items.
She is survived by her husband, Greg, Winona, her yorkie Zoey, brother, Terry (Ann) Schwanke, Rochester, Minn., two sisters: Trudy (fiancé Rick Volkman) Hundt, Winona and Lycia Ammann, Winona, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services to remember Barb will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home, Winona. with Rev. Paul F. Welke officiating.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
