On Friday, November 1, Elder Network, in collaboration with Winona State University nursing students, will hold a free educational event for older adults, which will provide information on using microwaves to cook healthy meals. The event will cover nutritional tips and tricks, and the sharing of recipes as well.
This event is part of the monthly educational program run by Elder Network, which includes a class each month for interested community members.
The event will be held at Winona Family Community Center Activity Room, 1756 Kraemer Drive, will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The Winona State University nursing students decided on the topic, and will present the information for the guests.
“It’s something they [older adults] can easily utilize,” said Renee Kreter, Coordinator of Elder Network.
Kreter added that she hopes the event will help people who may be cooking for one, or those who are looking for easy meals.
RSVPs are not necessary. For any questions regarding the upcoming event, call Renee Kreter at 507-452-0580.
