WSHS to present Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’ (10/27/2013)
Winona Senior High School will perform the 2005 winner for best musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot. Spamalot is “lovingly ripped off” from the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail among other popular Python comedies. The musical features book and lyrics by Eric Idle with music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. Winona Senior High will present the musical at the Winona Middle School Auditorium on Friday and Saturday, November 8 & 9 at 7:00 p.m.; Friday, November 15, at 7:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 16, at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.winona.k12.mn.us, the Winona Senior High Activities Office, Midtown Foods, Community Education, and HyVee. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students (college and younger) and senior citizens.

SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of knights, cheerleaders, songs, dances, quests, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Called the “funniest show on earth,” Arthur and his knights are on a quest for the Holy Grail. Familiar songs include Always Look on the Bright Side of Life and Knights of the Round Table.
