Great River Shakespeare Festivalís Annual Stakeholders Meeting will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at the Winona County History Center, 170 Johnson Street, from 5:00 to 7 p.m., with program beginning at 6 p.m!
Itís time to Get Carried Away all over again as the Great River Shakespeare Festival holds its annual Stakeholders Meeting. Whoís invited? Everyone who cares about the Festival is a stakeholder and is welcome to attend this free event. The Social hour with live music will be from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with food from Jeffersons, and a cash bar. At 6 p.m., Doug Scholz-Carlson, Artistic Director, will announce the 11th Season shows, directors, and special programming events, and speak about his first season as the new Artistic Director!
Next, new Managing Director Lee Gundersheimer will report on the financial status of the festival, and announce the new Great River Arts Collaboration initiative. This will foster GRSF partnerships with all types of fine arts and artists, including music, dance, film makers, writers, and visual artists. These collaborations, which have been happening informally for years, is being formalized this season with the announcement of the first annual choice of regional fine artist to design GRSFís posters. The wonderful painter Julia Crozier, who just last week celebrated the opening of her show at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum, will be this yearís featured artist and is delighted to kick off this annual collaborative initiative. The Stakeholders Meeting is the first of many special events that GRSF will be holding this year leading up to its 11th Festival season, to be held June 25 through August 3, 2014!!
