The League of Women Voters (LWV), Winona Unit, is sponsoring a public educational forum on election integrity and access. This forum will feature a panel discussion on election laws and impact on our local community. It will be held Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Winona City Hall, located at 4th and Lafayette Streets. Live cable TV coverage will be provided.
Confirmed panelists are Gene Pelowski, legislator, Monica Hennessey Mohan, Winona City Clerk, Kara Lindaman, Winona State University professor of political pcience, and Renata Rislow, election judge, Fremont Township. Panelists will present information on their various roles in Minnesota regarding the election laws, including integrity and voter access issues. The public is invited to attend and pose written questions to the panel. Area high school and college students are also encouraged to attend. Forum attendees are welcome beginning at 6:30.
The LWV is a non-partisan organization dedicated to providing communities with opportunities for citizen empowerment and voter information that help residents stay informed about decisions and issues that directly affect our community.
