From: Sen. Jeremy Miller
Last week, I was honored to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs at the site of what will be the new Southeastern Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Iíve had the privilege to author several pieces of legislation during my first three years as a member of the Minnesota Senate and the veterans cemetery in Fillmore County has certainly been a highlight. Thank you to all of our local, state and federal officials and the citizens of Southeastern Minnesota who helped play a role in this project.
Here is a link to the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairsí website where you will find a rendering of what the new cemetery will look like when completed in 2015: http://mn.gov/mdva/memorials/StateVeteransCemetery/SEStateVeteransCemetery.jsp
On Monday, our nation celebrated Veterans Day by remembering our veterans past, present and future. I was honored to be the guest speaker for the Veterans Day ceremony at Rushford-Peterson Schools. Thank you to all our veterans and their families, for your many sacrifices and unwavering service to protect our freedoms.
