Romalda Margaret “Romey” Staublin, age 94, of Winona, formerly of rural Fountain City, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at the Sterling House of Winona.
Romey was born on June 2, 1919, to Vincent and Frances (Losinski) Bambenek, Sr. She was united in marriage to Wesley A. Staublin, Jr., on June 2, 1945, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, Wis. Wesley preceded her in death on March 14, 2001.
Romey was a homemaker and housewife and worked as a health care aide and factory technician before retiring. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo and bus trips to the casino. She displayed her talents at local craft fairs with her sewing and baking goods.
Romey is lovingly survived by her daughter, Cynthia Ann (Robert) Wener, grandson, Brett (Melissa) Wener, and great-grandchildren Reid and Evan Wener, all of Fairbanks, AK, as well as many devoted nieces, nephews and cousins.
Romey was the youngest of thirteen children, all who preceded her in death, including her parents, and a twin sister who died at birth.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, Wis., and its Rosary Society.
Preliminary Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home, and then in procession to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Creek, Wis., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Romey’s great-nephew, Father Joseph Bambenek, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Sunday, November 24, 2013, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., where the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be held at 4:30 p.m.
