National Eagle Center events (12/02/2013)
On Saturday, December 7, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., the National Eagle Center is hosting an Optics EXPO. If you’re a birder, hunter or just enjoy wildlife viewing, make sure you’re getting the most out of your binoculars or spotting scope. Experts will be on hand to offer free adjustments and cleaning, advice on the best optics for your needs and workshops on basic birding and digiscoping.

National Eagle Center Optics from Big River Outdoors will also be offering trade-in value on your current binoculars, close out deals and door prizes throughout the day. Admission of $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (62+), $5 for youth (ages 4-17) to the National Eagle Center is valid all day and includes all programs and the Optics EXPO.

On Saturday, December 7th, the National Eagle Center is also hosting Harriet’s Holiday Open House.

The National Eagle Center (NEC) will be offering FREE ADMISSION to those visitors who bring a donation for the Wabasha Food Shelf or a new, unwrapped toy for the Star of Hope Toys for Tots campaign. And, to get you started on holiday shopping, Harriet is offering 15% off everything in the gift store (excludes optics) during the open house. NEC members will receive 25% off everything in the gift store during this one-day event. Harriet’s Holiday Open House takes place in conjunction with 100 Miles of Christmas events taking place throughout the Mississippi River Valley on December 7th and 8th.

December 7th is also the National Eagle Center’s annual food and toy drive. Visitors who bring a non-perishable food or an unwrapped toy donation will receive complimentary admission (minimum one item per admission). Food donations collected will be given to the Wabasha Area Food Shelf and toys will support Star of Hope and the local Toys for Tots campaign.
