Why so much time for Spanish? (12/04/2013)
From: Richard Frahm

Winona

Why do we need to teach a whole grade school Spanish for half the day? English seems like it would be the best language to use in our school district. Maybe if Spanish is used it needs to be used in a much smaller time allotment.

If students want to learn Spanish, it should be done as an elective class. I can see the use of math and science schools in our area. I donít think we need to keep trying to turn our elementary schools into specialty schools.
