Happy holidays to you and yours!
Wanted to share this with you. It was written when our Emma turned one — seven years ago. She just enjoyed her Golden Birthday on December 7. Time does fly.
Hopefully the account of little “Emma’s Dilemma” will make you smile and remember the pure joy and wonder of it all that Christmas brings. If everyone would slow down and see what a young child sees, our busy and crazy world would be a nicer place. Keep “things” simple.
So enjoy, and thank you for the Winona Post. It’s a wonderful paper.
(or Emma’s dilemma)
Daddy had it in his pickup,
Then he brought it in the house.
Mama had a place to put it,
But they had to move the couch.
They both were so excited;
They said, “Emma, come and see.”
There were lots of shiny objects
On this thing called Christmas Tree.
I don’t remember last year,
As I was pretty small.
But there it is, just waiting...
Begging me to crawl.
So many pretty objects...
I wonder if I should?
But they say this guy called Santa..
Doesn’t come...if you’re not good.
This is a real dilemma
For little ones like me;
There are so many treasures...
On the branches of that tree.
So I’ll wait ‘til no one sees me,
Before I seek and find.
I know that I’m so dog-gone cute...
That Santa Claus won’t mind.
