Harkness, Bea (12/22/2013)
Bea Harkness, age 80, of Winona, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

Bea was born October 17, 1933, in Arcadia, Wis., to August and Rose (Konkel) Kukowski. She grew up in Dodge, Wis., and graduated from Arcadia High School in 1951. She married Earl H. Harkness in 1952 and this marriage was blessed with three children. Bea and Earl eventually settled in Winona in 1957. She was an expert seamstress and did contract sewing work for Sue’s Lettering. Bea kept her family as the number one priority in her life. She and Earl took many trips after retirement and also kept active with her bowling.

She is survived by her husband, Earl, Winona, three children: Debby Harkness (Ron Cordell), Austin, Texas, Carol (Bill) O’Laughlin, Winona, and Ed (Laurie) Harkness, Chanhassen, Minn.; four grandchildren: Kelly (Theresa) O’Laughlin, Adam O’Laughlin, Nea Harkness, and Ty Harkness; one great-grandson Connor O’Laughlin; a sister, Rita Wieczorek, Winona, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings.

A private family service was held on December 19, 2013.

Services entrusted to Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Winona, Minn.
