Preparing for Childbirth

Thursday, January 2, 6:30-8:30 p.m.; Winona Health, Women’s Health Center, clinic 3rd floor, 859 Mankato Ave., Winona

This session will help expectant parents learn how to positively cope with the emotional and physical changes that occur during pregnancy and birth. This is a five-week series on Thursday evenings starting Jan. 2 and ending Jan 30. Class size is limited so registration is required. Senior Living at Watkins Free Music Monday

All About Baby

Tuesday, January 7, 12 – 1:30 p.m.

Winona Health, Women’s Health Center, clinic third floor, 859 Mankato Ave., Winona, Minn. Weekly drop-in group for parents to weigh their baby, get answers to questions and meet other parents. New parents and expecting parents are welcome. Meeting facilitators are Robyn Hinz, RN, IBCLC, and Jenni McHugh, Baby Connections facilitator and certified parent educator. 507.457.7701.

Diabetes Prevention: Small Steps; Big Rewards

This is a series of four classes on Tuesday evenings from Jan. 7 to Jan 28. Designed for people at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Winona Health Speech Language Pathologist, Carol Meyer-Boldon, CCC, SLP, facilitates this quarterly support group for those who have had a stroke and are undergoing or have under gone rehabilitation. FREE Smoking Cessation Class

COPD Support Group

Wednesday, January 15, 2:30 – 3:20 p.m.; Winona Health, Lake Winona Manor classroom, 865 Mankato Ave., Winona.

Winona Health respiratory therapist, Bob Elam, RT, facilitates this monthly support group for people dealing with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This support group offers an opportunity to ask questions, share tips with others who may be experiencing similar challenges or caring for a person who has COPD. CPR Recertification for healthcare providers

Thursday, January 16, 8-11 a.m.; B.A. Miller Auditorium, Winona Health, 855 Mankato Ave., Winona

In this refresher course, participants will receive an update on CPR skills, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and how to recognize and respond to a variety of emergencies.
