Sheriff announces new SOAR team president (12/29/2013)
By Amelia Wedemeyer

The Winona County Search Operations Assistance Rescue (SOAR) team has a new president: Ray Sylvester, 49, of Rollingstone. Sylvester was named president after elections earlier this month, and will replace current president Greg Lemmer, 51, of Winona, on January 1, 2014.

“I know he’ll make a real good leader,” Lemmer said of Sylvester.

The SOAR team, which volunteers its time to help out the Sheriff’s Department, also elected a new vice president, Angie Hundt, who will replace Josh Harrison.

SOAR is always looking for new volunteer team members, so if you are interested, please contact Sheriff Dave Brand at dbrand@co.winona.mn.us.
