Mon. Jan. 13 at 10:00 at Winona County History Center. Shelia Skeels, LSW, a College of St. Theresa graduate and a Winona native will include a presentation on Hospice and Palliative Care. She has been involved in the Hospice and Palliative care for 18 years.

Thur. Jan. 16 at 11:00 at Willowbrook Cooperative, 1420 East Burns Valley Rd., Winona. Marie Kovecsi and her husband share a spirit of adventure and curiosity about our world and have lived in New Zealand for 13 years and in 1994 her family had an opportunity to live and work in Ifrane, Morocco at Al Akhawayn University for 18 months. Marie will discuss their experiences with decisions, cultural immersion and adjustments in Morocco.

Tues. Feb. 4 at 10:00 at Winona County History Center. Brittany Horton/Funeral Director and Sydney Smith/Pre-Planning Specialist will answer questions involved with funeral pre-funding and pre-planning: whom to call when a death occurs at home; cost differences between traditional and cremation, and any questions members may have.
Thur. Feb. 6 at Winona County History Center. Social: 9:00. Program: 10:00. Loosely called “spring” open house, there will be refreshments, time to register for upcoming programs, and entertainment. This is also a time for interested persons to join the Learning Club.
Midwest Music Festival:
Thur. Feb. 13 at 11:00 at Winona County History Center. When Midwest Music Fest (MWMF) began in 2010, it set out to introduce another annual arts event into Winona’s already thriving arts scene. The fest has continued to build on its success each year and is now in the planning stages for the fifth MWMF happening April 24-26, 2014. Founder Sam Brown and managing director Parker Forsell will describe the ins-and-outs of the festival’s present and future.
Tues. Feb. 18 at 10:00 at Winona County History Center---Wanek Room. With a side trip to Isle Royale, Stewart and Kay Shaw drove around Lake Superior, recreating their honeymoon trip 51 years earlier. Kay’s photos will include several waterfalls along the North Shore and in Ontario, and Ojibwe pictographs on Agawa Rock.
Fri. Feb. 21 at 10:00 at Winona County History Center. Jason Dicus, owner of Computer Dock, will host a short presentation on computer viruses and internet safety. Much of the hour will be open to questions/answers and general discussion.
Mon. Feb. 24 at 10:00 at Winona County History Center. Since she was in fifth grade, Learning Club member Barb Burchill has played many different sizes and types of flutes. Currently she plays in the Saint Mary’s University Concert Band, the Winona Municipal Band, and an occasional church gig. Barb will explain some of the history of the various flutes and demonstrate several different types.
The mystery Readers Book Club meets at 10:30 on the 4th Tuesday of every month at Callista Court. Members read any work by the author chosen for the month.
