January 13

Ruskin will meet on January 13, at Central Lutheran Church with the program beginning at 1:00 p.m. Beth Moe will serve as hostess and Margaret Shaw Johnson will co-host. The paper will be given by Nancy Nelson.

The January 13, monthly board meeting of the Stockton, Rollingstone. Minnesota City Watershed District  will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Stockton Community Center. 

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will meet on January 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.  We will say the rosary and have the regular meeting.  We will then play bingo.

The Chautauqua Club will meet on Monday, January 13, at the Deering home located at 129 E. Garvin Heights Road.  Host and co-host of the meeting will be Cindy Donahue and Pat Malotka.  If members would like to car pool, please meet at the Visitors’ Center at 11:45 a.m.  Members are asked to contact the host if they are unable to attend: cdonahue@hbci.com,  458-5828

Goodview Business Association will be meeting Monday, January 13, at 5:00 p.m. at the Goodview City Hall Building. A vital meeting for all GBA members as we are looking at the possibility of the requested interest that the Lion’s Club has expressed in taking over our portion of our annual Goodview Days annual chicken- que or the Goodview Sandlot Baseball Association has also shown an interest. Any members of these organizations are encouraged to attend this meeting as well to discuss this matter. Questions ? January 15

Harvest House, a non-profit, non-denominational organization for 50 and getting better, will hold their monthly meeting Wednesday, January 15, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Stanislaus hall.  Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Paul Breza as celebrant, for those wishing to attend. There will be a business meeting.  Our speaker will be a member of the Winona Police Department to speak on the “Granny Scam”.  Bring a non-perishable food item for a needy family.  Lunch will be served. Sign up sheets for Day Trippers Theater “Always a Bridesmaid” April 3, and Old Log Theater “Steel Magnolias” May 8.  Non-members are welcome on our trips.  For more information, call Mary Jane at 454-8488 or Jane at 454-1430.

January 16

The Whitewater Joint Powers Board will meet on Thursday, January 16, at 8:30 a.m. at Whitewater State Park Visitor’s Center, 19041 Highway 74, Altura.

January 17

Bundles of Love meeting, Senior Friendship Center , 251 Main Street, Winona 12:00-3:30 p.m. Volunteers who can sew, cut out material, crochet or knit are needed. Material, yarn or gently used baby clothing can be dropped anytime. Donations are needed for supplies. Susan Moses 507-273-9365 or srmoses@msn.com

January 20

Winona Shrine Auxiliary will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, January 20, at Westfield Golf Club. The menu will be stir fry, fried rice, egg roll, salad, roll, and dessert. For reservations call Jane Haugan at 454-4253. Winter weather rule - if schools are called off for snow, Shrine will not meet. We do not meet in February.

Overeater’s Anonymous meets Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. at 1717 Service Drive ( Faith Lutheran Church).

Al-Anon Family Group Thursdays, 7-8 p.m., St. Augustine Room, Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 360 Main Street. A 12-step fellowship for families of problem drinkers. 452-4445 for more information.
