On Friday evening, January 31 and the following day there will be SKI JUMPING in Southwestern Wisconsin. Two weeks later, on Saturday February 15, one leg of the Great Northern Sno-X Series of SNOWMOBILE RACING will be held on the same site four miles north of Westby. Be sure you don’t miss these fun and thrilling events.
Veterans will be admitted free to both events!
The 91st Annual Snowflake Ski Tournament will be held on January 31 and February 1 at the Snowflake Ski Club near Westby, 25 miles southeast of La Crosse. There will be over twenty jumpers from across the US, and up to a dozen foreign jumpers. All jumps will be on a “118 meter hill,” which is the same sized jump used in Olympic competition.
The competition on Friday will begin at 7 p.m. with opening ceremonies. Jumping at night under lights provides an exciting and unique atmosphere! Saturday’s competition will begin at noon. Results of both will be used to determine winners.
Standing Long Jumps will take place on Friday and Saturday after the end of regular competition.
Two weeks later, come back and enjoy the fast paced action at the Sno-X competition sponsored by the Coulee Track and Trail Snowmobile and Snowflake Ski Clubs. Admission is $20 per person for the weekend for the ski tournament, and $12 for the snowmobile races.
