Koopman, Margaret ‘Peggy’ Leone (01/15/2014)
Margaret “Peggy” Leone Koopman, 89, of Winona, died Monday, January 13, 2014, at Lake Winona Manor.

Peggy was born February 18, 1924 in Winona to Arthur and Gertrude (Nelson) Frye.

She graduated from Winona High School and on September 7, 1946, she married Robert Koopman in Winona. She worked at Technigraph until her retirement. She was a member of St. Casimir Parish for many years and also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Women’s Bowling Association and Tops Clubs. Peggy enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dice, fishing, was an avid Twins fan and, most importantly, enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her four daughters, Betty Waters of Winona, Nanci (Carroll) Moger of Winona, Debra (fiancé Don Kyser) Grandy of Independence, Wis., and Sheila (Dennis) Kupietz of Dodge, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Trudi (Jon) Beebe, Craig (Leah) Waters, Davy (Nancy) Griffin, Amy (Pat) Kaiser, Chad Sobotta, Ciera Foltz, Joshua (Kathy) Waters, Michael (Angie Solberg) Waters, and Tony (Bobbi) Waters; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanore Stahl of Winona, Betty (Ed) Stiever of Winona, and Alice (Allyn) Stevens of Florida; sisters-in-law, Marie Schladenske and Mary E. Beighley; brother-in-law, Everett (Rosemary) Koopman; and many nieces and nephews.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son-in-law, Gregory Waters; siblings, Dorothy (Bud) Nelton, Elaine Ctibor, Jeannie Bunke, Al Kreb; brother-in-law, Fritz Stahl; and sister-in-law, Pauline (John) Kamrowski.

Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2014, at Hoff Celebration of Life Center in Goodview, led by Funeral Celebrant Jenny Hoff. Visitation will be 4 until 6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. The Eagles Auxiliary will perform a service starting at 6 p.m., Thursday.
