Nonnie G. Loveless, age 75, of Winona, Minn., passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014, at St. Anne Extended HealthCare in Winona.
Nonnie was born on March 26, 1938, in San Jose, Ill., to Glen and Minnie (Swisher) Skelton. She lived in San Jose until 1954 when she married Howard S. Loveless. They moved to Lincoln, Ill., and raised their family. While living in Lincoln, Nonnie was very active in the Lincoln Historical Society, Lincoln Jaycees and local politics.
Nonnie moved to Minnesota in the early 1990s. She drove cab for Yellow Cab in Winona. She was crazy about her grandchildren great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchilren. Nonnie enjoyed quilting, sewing and embroidering. She was an advocate for battered women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Minnie; her loving husband, Howard “Shorty”; her son, Robert; five brothers and one sister. Nonnie will be greatly missed by her children: Howard (Cindy) Loveless of Houston, Minn.; John Loveless of Rushford, Minn.; Mary (Lanny) Vaughn of Blaine, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; long-time companion, Richard Loth.
