On behalf of the Social Concerns Committee of Central Lutheran Church.
A blood drive was scheduled for January 16 at Central Lutheran Church. Through an unfortunate accident with some of the supplies, the drive had to be delayed for over an hour. The Team Leader in charge, Shamon Metcalf, got on the phone, called donors, explained the situation, and asked if they could come in later. They thanked her and said they would. Once the new supplies arrived, the staff of six went to work and did an outstanding job of handling the back up.
I canít say enough about the professionalism of this group of Red Cross workers. Thanks also to Kevin, who was able to come in and lend a helping hand. Neither the weather nor the problem kept people away. The goal was 35 and 34 units were collected.
A big thank-you to the Red Cross, donors, and workers for making this day a success.
